**Disclaimer: Following post will be very angry.
The Royals were back at it again. They have now started off the season 0-2, losing both on walk off hits. Who is to blame here? NED YOST.
Ned Yost is the most terrible excuse for a baseball manager. First of all, you don't take your all-star catcher out in the 8th inning with the bottom of your lineup coming up. Second of all, (although it wasn't an issue today)Wade Davis is not, and will never be a set-up guy. These are just his screw ups today. During post-game, he said that he wouldn't pinch hit for Alcides Escobar because it's too early in the season.
Yes, this game was mostly Ned's fault. Alcides Escobar: Can't hit. Billy Butler: Too slow for our own good. In Billy's defense, we need his bat, so a few double plays here and there are okay. (Although not on a 3-0 pitch.) Mike Moustakas has made no improvements this year. He's still lifting his head off the ball, and striking out, or popping up to the pitcher. Finally, Lorenzo Cain is awful... Truly awful. He can't hit the broadside of a barn if he were standing in it, and quite frankly, it's pathetic.
I would like to make something clear though: The Royals are my team, and I will never hate them. I will never jump ship after two games, and I will certainly always keep my faith until the very last game. As many times as I say they suck, and bash them for their terrible decisions, I will always love them. Hopefully we can come back to Kauffman Stadium with a win. Keep your heads up, guys. Remember: Baseball is a marathon, not a sprint.
