The Kansas City Royals received a bit of disconcerting news yesterday. Veteran righty, Luke Hochevar has undergone MRI's and they revealed that he has a sprain in his UCL. The Royals will shut him down until the end of May. At the end of May, he will be reevaluated. The team will seek a second opinion of the Righty's arm, and hope for the best. In my opinion, it's never good when teams seek the dreaded second opinion. The UCL is the ligament which a lot of pitchers need surgery due to overuse. If Hochevar does indeed need the surgery, he will miss the entire 2014 season. The Royals will definitely have him back by may. Whether it's this May, or next, is yet to be determined.
